Reduces Forward Head Posture, Back Pain and Stress

Bad posture doesn't happen overnight. It's a gradual process. Bad posture is a response to how you hold your body in various positions, such as sitting, slouching and standing. After a period of time, your posture muscles become weak and other muscles take over the work, making it comfortable to slouch.

Your body responds to your bad postural habits, and soon begins to adapt to these habitual poses until they begin to feel "normal ", making it comfortable to slouch and end up with all kinds of aches and pains - because your back muscles are overworked and overstretched.

Typical problems relating to bad posture include back ache, headaches, muscle fatigue and strain. Even the position and function of major organs can be affected by bad posture.

The common manifestations of bad posture are swayback (a large curve in the back) and slouching, where everything moves forward and rolls in.

Computer use is the cause of a significant number of injuries related to posture and positioning. High heeled shoes, boots, tight clothing and wide belts also shift our center of gravity and move us out of normal alignment.

In order to remedy the problem of bad posture, postural exercises and stretching must be done. This is where the Posture Pal therapeutic cushion comes into play. Posture Pal lets gravity do all the work and replicates some of the recommended postural exercises. All you have to do is lay on the cushion! Allowing gravity to stretch the muscles is less harmful than forcing a stretch on an overworked, tight muscle. Sometimes people overstretch their muscles causing damage to the tissues.

Posture Pal starts stretching the chest area and relaxes the back muscles as soon as you lay on it, relieving the tension and stress in the upper body caused by poor posture.

For best results, integrate the Posture Pal cushion into your lifestyle. Make it part of your daily routine. The benefits of the Posture Pal cushion are so numerous it will literally change your quality of life!

How the Posture Pal Posture Cushion Works

The special contours and foam density of the Posture Pal cushion causes your body weight, along with the pull of Gravity to stretch muscles that need to be stretched and relax muscles that need to be relaxed. Imagine an exercise program that works by you doing nothing except lie on the cushion!

Posture Pal Posture Cushion without the washable cover

The Posture Pal Posture Cushion (shown here without the washable cover) uses gravity to reverse the effects of poor posture. The image above illustrates the cushion's unique contours and scientific design.

  1. This special recess allows the head to assume a neutral or slightly backward position simultaneously stretching the muscles in the front of the neck and relaxing the muscles at the back.

  2. The soft neck bridge encourages a normal curve in the neck.

  3. Internal rotation of the shoulders is a major problem with poor posture. These special recesses allow the shoulders to relax and rotate outward.

  4. This upper back bridge exerts a gentle forward force that relaxes the back and expands the chest area.

  5. The upper back bridge has a gentle decline to the lower back area.

The special features of the Posture Pal cushion are so unique that the company was awarded a U.S. Patent.

Poor Body Posture Increases as We Age

Most scientists maintain, and most Chiropractors agree, that gravity is the cause of poor body posture as we get older.

Dr. Brent Jarrett, an award-winning Podiatrist, says that: "Physics teaches us that Force equals Mass times Acceleration, F = MA. The acceleration of gravity multiplied by our body weight equals the force that pulls posture towards the ground. Gravity obviously remains constant but as we age and get more body mass, the actual force that is applied to our skeletal structure increases. By the time most of us reach the age of 14 the force that must be supported by our lower extremities (hip, knee, ankle and foot) is too great, and posture begins to break down. Gravity pronates the foot, internally rotates our lower extremities, tilts our pelvis forward, and increases spinal curvature. These destructive forces on posture, that increase as we get older, are explained by this basic law of physics. Up to now science has not defined all of the math involved, but it is clear that these destructive forces occur every time we stand on our feet".

Gravity works against you all day long.
Now, make it work for you!

Posture Pal uses gravity to reverse the effects of poor posture.

Forward Head Posture

Forward head posture is a scourge that has become more prevalent in modern times. It is one of the most common abnormal postures in our society. Ninety percent of the population has some degree of forward head posture.

According to the Journal of American Geriatrics Society, older men and women with hyperkyphotic posture (rounded hump) have higher mortality rates. That means they are more likely to die early.

The journal Spine states all measures of health showed poorer scores as C7 plumbing deviation (forward head and body) increased. In other words, those with forward head posture have a lower health status.

Fact: Posture correlates directly with health and well being.

Fact: Pain and disability increase as optimal posture decreases.

Fortunately, forward head posture can be corrected. Chiropractors have had excellent results with the Posture Pal cushion to reverse forward head posture.
